Friday Fun: Design Influences
My necklace and earrings are by jewelry designer Gay Isber, who I had the pleasure of meeting at Cabaret Vintage on Queen Street West in Toronto.
When I was looking at old photos I realized how similar my hallway is to my son’s ensemble and the Hawaiian surfboards he is standing in front of.
I had to include this image because not only is it beautiful but also it so clearly describes the blurring of design boundaries. The image is from KontaktMag.
Our environment can be another influence to the world of Design. One of our Local Collective artists is Karen Konzuk, who draws her inspiration her personal observations of architecture and sculpture. Minimal form, unique surface texture, and unorthodox materials each define the modernist aesthetic of KONZUK jewelry. We are especially pleased because Karen has asked Designers Collective to represent, and help her launch, her new collection, Stellar, in Vancouver. More details to follow but do mark June 16, 2016 on your calendar!
So, keep your eyes open, and let the world of DESIGN enter your psyche!
Even better, COME on our Design Tour to Los Angeles and be totally immersed in the world of design as we take you on a visually and sensory, stimulating trip. For information check out the trip here.
