Happy Kitchen Project: Art

Day 6: Happy Kitchen Project: Art

As we continue to discuss how to grow a happy kitchen let’s talk ART. There is a lot of wonderful art out there that would add a lot to a kitchen but what about if you really want to create that “happy” vibe? Even just a little happy art that makes you smile is a great way to start the day as you pad into the kitchen to make your morning brew.

Of course the obvious idea is that if you have a blank wall in your kitchen you could hang a lively, colourful painting or poster. Frame it well and it can become a great focal point for your kitchen.

Some kitchens have cabinets that don’t go all the way to the ceiling. This could be a good space for a collection or some colourful, funky cookware.

Or add a colourful clock!

For those of us that have cabinets that go to the ceiling, you could always put a piece of art along the backsplash wall between the upper and lower cabinets. Keep it a bit out of the way of the stove top and sink so it doesn’t get drips and grease on it. It can be a great place to add an injection piece.

If you are lucky enough to have some open shelving in your kitchen then mix some art pieces or sculpture or kids art with your cookware, books, and glassware. You can create a wonderful mix or eye candy here!

If you are a collector of pretty things display them and they will become art!
