Holiday Hostess Gift Ideas
Host and Hostess Gift Ideas-These are a Few of Our Favourite Things
This time of year brings about lots of socializing, and with that we often are invited into our friends homes for a party or celebration. What do you give for a host or hostess gift?
Here are a few ideas we have come up with to help you hit just the right note for your next party.
Vancouver Candle Company has many different scents to choose from. They have a different scent for many different Vancouver neighbourhoods. If you are going to a party in Point Grey neighbourhood, how about taking one of their Point Grey candles? This is such a nice way to be personal with your gift. These candles are for sale at many locations now across Vancouver so have a look on their website to find the best location for you.
One of our favourite stores in town is Heather Ross’s Natural Eclectic. Heather has so many special little items that would be perfect for hostess gifts. She has gorgeous ornaments that would elevate any Christmas tree. Pssst…I also found some great stocking stuffers here. Natural Eclectic is at 2170 Fir St (at 6th ave). Here’s Heather’s website too!
Did you know succulents are really in right now? Botany Living makes beautiful arrangements in many sizes. They have a small one called the Uno that is just perfect as a hostess gift.
Botany Living now has their arrangements for sale at Gild and Co in Point Grey Village and at L’Atelier Home in Gastown. They are so new they don’t have a website yet but are going great guns already! You can also find them on Instagram.
Another fave of ours is from G Ceramic and Co. This xoxo mug is the perfect gift for anyone, don’t you think??
Now here is something really different. This company is called Wize Monkey and sells Coffee Leaf Tea. Coffee farming is only profitable 3 months of the year due to the short harvest season, so these two young men decided to set up shop in North Vancouver for coffee leaf tea. It makes a great product and also is great for coffee growers in Latin America. We just love their mandate and love that they are so globally ethically inclined. They sell at Greens Market, 1978 West Broadway and are also at a Pop Up shop now until the 23rd in Gastown at 221 Abbott St. I’d love to receive a hostess gift like this!
A nice hostess gift would be some lavender sachets by Joue Design. Lavender sachets make your drawers smell heavenly and Joue Design has made some wonderful, ones! You can contact them through their website.
Finally, we at Designers Collective, have some really beautiful tea towels we are now offering. They are vintage bird prints from the History of Birds as well as some botanicals. We are getting great feedback on these so will be adding them to our website soon but for now you can contact us if you would like to buy any.
If you have come across some wonderful gift ideas for hostesses, let us know!
