LOCAL: How opportunity became a creative network

With a show of hands… how many of you have started shopping for the holidays?  Really… Well if you need some ideas we can help…

With our next Pop Up, aptly titled LOCAL Holiday, we’re also celebrating our one year anniversary since launching our first curated and locally-focused shop!

Putting these together is definitely a departure from our day-to-day work; but it has proven time again to be an incredibly fruitful undertaking. Last year we saw an opportunity to organize our first shop when a local business decided to move—we had a great space with nothing to put in it. So we started our research, calling friends, scouting local designers at IDS and various markets, and finally building a list of incredibly talented makers.

Apart from being a lesson in time management and organization we found we had built a wonderful community of creative minds that quickly transitioned into dear friends and constant collaborators. Looking at our tablescape for Dinner x Design over half of our contributors were from that first shop!

What we value most from organizing shops like these is the chance to broaden our connections in the community as well as foster a network of like-minded small business owners and artisans who are launching and growing their brands. Success is infectious!

There is a noticeable trend (thank goodness!) to support local makers – so why not take advantage of that? Makers and shoppers alike, let’s get LOCAL!

Our petit Pop Up, LOCAL Holiday, launches tomorrow!

Join us November 17 in the afternoon to get a preview and come at 5pm for our vendor launch.  Regular business hours (10-5) will be from Friday November 18 to Sunday November 20.

Check out our vendors!
