Gift giving is very personal. With Valentine’s Day next Sunday, we thought we would take this opportunity to give you a few gift ideas that we personally would love to receive.
First off, we love everything we have had in our Local Love Pop Up shop for the past couple of days, so naturally our participating artists are on the top our our list….
1 Konzuk Jewelry is just so special with Karen’s architectural take on designing jewelry. She uses concrete and stainless steel and her pieces are so unique. We just love them! You can find her here.
2 Another fave of ours are these xoxo mugs. Gabrielle Burke of G Ceramics & Co, uses 18 karat gold to paint the xoxo on these stoneware mugs. I would love to receive one of these on Valentines Day! more on Gabrielle here.
3 Jai Style has the best amulets and Mala bracelets. Tina and I both have an amulet and both of us wear them almost everyday! Visit Jai Style here.
4 Joanna Baxter really knows how to use leather to its best advantage. She comes up with the most innovative handbags and we just love her key chains, which can be used on their own for your keys or to add to your handbag for extra zing! Joanna can be found at LoverFighter.
5 Botany Living is another great idea for Valentine’s gift giving. They have added some gorgeous red and pink into their plantings and they are just singing for Valentine’s Day. You can find them on Instagram @botanyliving. Their website will be up and live soon here.
6 Anne Carson Designs has some stunning pink pearls that would make a statement Valentine’s gift. Aren’t these gorgeous?! Anne has many other designs so you can sign up for her newsletter here:
7 Vanessa Lianne is another jewelry artist we love. Her pieces are very fine and delicate using silver and gold and even diamond bits. Both Tina’s daughter and my daughter have some of her pieces and just love them! Find Vanessa here.
8 And then there is Andrew Hibbs of Endeavour Neon. He learned at the knee of his father who is one of the forefathers of Neon in Vancouver. Andrew has taken neon and made some wonderful fresh designs. We love all his hearts!! Follow Andrew on Instagram @endeavourneon and his website here.
9 Walnutte is the place to go to get a painted silk scarf! Roshena has exquisite taste and anyone who loves wearing scarves will be so proud to own one of these. They are so comfortable and the colours are vibrant and alive! Find Roshena here.
10 Hilary Miles has supplied us with a range of flowers at different price points. They are all beautiful and any person would be so happy to receive any of these gorgeous bouquets. 11 Brett Riekert is an up and coming furniture designer who also makes some beautiful concrete vases that would make the perfect Valentine’s gift! Any flowers or plant would love to be housed in one of these vases and even on their own they are a conversation piece. You can contact Brett here.
12 Ryley of Strathcona Stockings has beautiful images that she uses sublimation printing to print onto these very comfortable socks for men and women. Socks are a big trend right now and it is a small luxury to have beautiful socks peeking out from under a pair of jeans! Have a look at her website here.
